Shibu received his Under Graduate (2002) and Masters (2004) Degrees in Chemistry from the University of Calicut. Subsequently, he joined the Department of Chemistry at Indian Institute of Technology Madras for his graduate studies, where he obtained a PhD degree in Chemistry (2010) under the guidance of Prof. T. Pradeep. He has been worked as JSPS fellow at AIST (Prof. Vasudevan Biju), Japan and Madam Marie Curie fellow at University of Bordeaux (Prof. Brahim Lounis), France. In 2017, he joined in CSIR-CECRI, as a Ramanujan Fellow (SERB) and Assistant Professor (AcSIR). In 2021, he joined in University of Calicut, as Assistant Professor (Dept. of Nanoscience and Technology).
